An unusual event in Middle Tennessee is measurable snow. A late season unexpected snowfall blanketed the woods in white last night. It’s a wet, sticky snow that will be gone by noon. It can be very pretty when you know it won’t last. And I have already seen enough snow during my life to last forever.
We have had some Great News for the Dale Hollow Lake Coalition. The Department of Defense has chosen DHL as the site of the National Military Team Bass Tournament May 5th – 9th. During this event, Dale Hollow Lake’s own Smallmouth Guru Stephen Headrick will be hosting 2 FREE fishing seminars . Stephen is well known throughout the fishing world as an expert on smallmouth bass. He has devoted much of his life to the sport. His website, www.thesmallmouthguru.com, is filled with a wealth of information and articles.
The Military Bass Tournament will also host a USO Show featuring the “Bama Girls” , all former Miss Alabama winners. Per Debra Talley, “Whether you’re into pop, R&B, or country, we’ve covered it all. The former Miss Alabamas – all entertainers – present a fast-paced, high energy, song and dance show that seems to never stop. The show is filled with lots of surprises. For anyone that has ever watched on TV, excerpts from USO Shows featuring Bob Hope, it will bring back memories of Ann Margaret and Marilyn Monroe as they crooned their own renditions of love songs to the soldiers stationed so far from home. An audience of all ages will find something to enjoy whether it’s a walk down memory lane, or the latest, hottest, songs being played on MTV today. At every show we do, they leave the audience begging for more”. Talley who went on to say, “our military men and women give so much of themselves for the rest of us, that we look so forward to every show and having the opportunity to meet and personally say ‘thank you’ to them for going in our place.”
The USO Show is open to the public and Deep Valley RV Park is selling tickets to the USO show.
