No matter what your opinion of the war is, I want to tell you a story. Please think about it....…

Last summer we had a family stay with us while the Dad was home on leave. This year they decided to spend part of his 18-day leave from Iraq (3^rd tour) back at Deep Valley. From the minute the children got out of the truck, I marvelled at how much they had grown in the past year. Knowing that Dad had also not seen them in a year was a somber realization. They are sweet, delightful, well-adjusted, well-mannered kids. Mom has done a great job, all the while worrying about her husband’s safety. Last night they invited David & I to join them for dinner and conversation. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

This family is proud to be American and proud to be serving this country. So many Americans are serving our country all over the world. It is a sacrifice by those actively serving but also by those left state-side. I just want to thank them all. Those serving now and those who have served in the past.
